All qualified candidates are eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $12,500 University of Iowa Health Care is seeking skilled staff nurses for their Nursing Float Pool (Tier 3) - also known as the Enterprise Staffing Pool - for Perioperative services. These staff nurses will circulate and scrub several services at University of Iowa Health Care University Campus, Stead Family Children’s Hospital, UI Health Care Downtown Campus, and UI Health Care North Liberty Campus. Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings.
Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
Participates in projects/committees for enhanced functioning of the unit and supports unit level decision-making.
Utilize critical thinking skills with adult population across all services in acute and ambulatory setting
Prepare and educate patients for discharge following proper procedures.
Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of an interdisciplinary plan of care.
Participates in the orientation of new staff and the ongoing education of personnel, as directed by the Nurse Manager or designee.
Applies quality improvement principals to improve patient outcomes.
Adheres to UI Health Care policies regarding personal conduct, including follows established leadership, remaining responsive to instruction and coaching from supervisors and meeting the standards of personal appearance, attendance and punctuality. Education Requirements
An associate’s degree in nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s

Requirements:
2 or more years of experience within Perioperative nursing in circulating role.
Ability to scrub two or more services.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions
General computer skills are required, including proficiency in managing multiple databases including Microsoft Excel
