The Medical Assistant performs various duties within a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient care. They operate within the Patient Centered Medical Home framework to promote proactive team-based care and population management.
Requires a High School Diploma, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and current CMA or RMA certification. BLS/BCLS certification is mandatory, and one year of medical office experience is preferred but new graduates are considered.
The MA, under the supervision of the Clinic Operations Manager, is responsible for performing a variety of duties while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team to deliver optimal patient care services and manage care within the framework of Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). The MA maintains an enhanced role within this model of care that promotes concepts of proactive team-based care, population management and principles of PCMH to develop a highly functional primary care workforce to provide higher quality care to a larger population.
