The RMA is responsible for the safe administration and documentation of medications for residents in accordance with state regulatory standards. They monitor resident reactions to medications and maintain accurate records and inventories to ensure optimum health and safety.
Candidates must be certified as a Resident Care Associate and maintain RMA certification through continuing education. Proficiency in safe medication techniques, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds are required.
The RMA must be able to lift, stoop, carry, turn, and assist high-risk residents, push medication carts and be willing and able to work a flexible work schedule. The RMA must be able to sit, stand, bend, and move continuously during work hours. Must be able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds. This position is considered a medium risk for exposure to COVID, as it provides direct care to potential COVID-positive residents.
