Provide direct hands-on support to patients in the rehabilitation unit, including assistance with activities of daily living and safe ambulation. Monitor patient conditions and accurately document care while communicating changes to the licensed nursing staff.
Candidates must be high school graduates or currently enrolled in a high school program and possess or obtain BCLS certification. Completion of a nursing assistant training program is required, with CNA certification preferred.
Assists patients with ADL’s according to hospital procedures, reports all abnormal findings and changes in patient condition to nurse in charge of patient. Assists with ambulation of patients and uses assist devices as appropriate to protect patient and staff member. Assists with restocking of rooms and maintain a safe and clean environment. Attends appropriate training programs, unit meetings and other mandatory meetings. Seeks to be involved in unit improvements, quality projects, and other enhancements to patient care. Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines. Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
Education: Must be actively enrolled in high school or equivalent program. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
