About the role

The nurse is responsible for assessing, directing, and coordinating care for patients aged 45 and up in a 12-bed behavioral health unit. They provide emotional support and therapeutic communication while collaborating with a treatment team to foster a healing environment.

Low patient ratios! The Behavioral Health Unit Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, directing, and coordinating patient care and procedures within a small 12-bed unit in a manner that is efficient, empathetic, timely, and tailored to the age of patients served (ages 45 and up). The Behavioral Health Nurse will provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families and will contribute to the treatment team fostering a supportive and healing environment for the patients being served. Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; current Basic Life Support; BS in Nursing preferred.
  • LICENSES: Current Registered Nurse License in New York State

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current New York State Registered Nurse License and Basic Life Support certification. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
