Job Title RN – Operating Room Location Garfield Hts Facility Marymount Sports Health Center Southside Department ASC Surgery-Marymount Hospital Job Code F2421S Shift Days Schedule 7:00am-3:30pm Job Summary Job Details Serving the needs of Garfield Heights and the Southeast communities of Cuyahoga County, Marymount Hospital is an acute care, faith-based hospital.

The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) offers advanced outpatient surgery, allowing patients to return home soon after their procedures without the need for overnight stays.

This position is part of the Marymount ASC, working with Cleveland Clinic Sport Health Medicine/Orthopedic and Plastics teams.

We support the Mission of Caring for life, we are part of research activities and promote education for our Caregivers.

As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional care, from initial introduction to discharge.

In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide clinical nursing and efficient functioning of the ASC and for personal and staff development in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).

Assess patient care needs, plan the delivery of care and process patients through the ASC.

Direct other caregivers in providing patient care.

Assume charge responsibilities, resolve problems and report variances.

Develop educational materials and provide health education to patients and families.

Maintain nursing competencies.

Monitor and evaluate cost effective practices within the ASC.

Complete all mandatory nursing competencies and educational requirements within a defined time frame Participate in preparing staff development programs.

Identify self-learning needs, establish goals and evaluate attainment of goals.

Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people.

Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, families and caregivers.

Demonstrate a positive, concerned and sensitive response in the workplace and contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) One year of clinical experience as an RN in a perioperative or critical care setting OR three years of experience as a Surgical Technician Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within six months of hire For those caring for pediatric population, completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Current demonstrated clinical proficiency Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) One to two years of critical care experience Ortho experience Pre/Post Op experience Physical Requirements: Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Requires a nursing degree, current RN licensure, and BLS certification, with ACLS required within six months. Candidates must have at least one year of perioperative/critical care experience or three years as a Surgical Technician.
