The technician is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and delivering reusable dental instruments while monitoring department equipment. They must also maintain a clean workspace and handle laundry duties and processing for students and departments.
A high school diploma is required, and six months of experience in a dental or medical setting is preferred. A Central Service Sterilization Technician Certification is desired along with proficiency in basic office software.

The Sterilization Technician, cleans, sterilizes, and delivers reusable dental instruments. Cleans and monitors equipment in the department. Maintains an organized and clean work area. Must be cross-trained in the laundry aspect of the department. Processes sterilized items for departments and students. Performs other duties as needed.
Minimum six months experience working in a dental or medical area preferred.
Knowledge of dental instruments & their maintenance preferred Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position; Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Central Service Sterilization Technician Certification preferred.
