The role involves scheduling neurological surgeries and procedures while maintaining the physician's surgical calendar. It also requires coordinating pre-op care, obtaining pre-authorizations from billing, and communicating with patients and facilities.
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in a medical office setting and familiarity with EMR systems are preferred.
Description This position involves working closely with patients, doctors and midlevel providers who treat a wide array of neurological conditions. Expectations of this role include: reviewing the patient’s chart, scheduling various types of neurological surgeries and procedures, maintain a high level of organization, effective communication with patients and providers, and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
Education: A high school diploma/GED required.
Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently with only general supervision. At least 1 years’ experience in a medical office setting preferred. Previous EMR experience preferred.
