Tissue Recovery Technicians are responsible for the hands-on, surgical removal of human tissue from deceased donors, including the preservation and packaging of these tissues for transplant and research use. They must participate as part of the recovery team, ensuring adherence to all standards for aseptic recovery, room setup, and post-recovery decontamination.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though an Associate degree in a related field is desired. Candidates should possess experience in a healthcare/medical field, hospital clinical area, eye banking, or tissue banking, along with a valid NYS Driver's license.
