Reporting to the Lead Physician Assistant (PA) and Chief Executive Officer, the Neurosurgery Nurse Navigator, under the supervision of the surgeon, performs advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tasks related to surgery and trauma.
Acts as a first or second assistant in surgery.
Participates in pre and post-operative patient care.
Complies with all appropriate safety and infection control standards.
Participates in quality assessment and continuous quality improvement/performance improvement activities.
The Medical Staff Bylaws and Title 16 of the California Administrative Code grant the NP’s privileges as outlined.
Additionally, a Tenet Hospital shall only enter into an employment or independent contractor relationship with a NPP to perform services for purposes of enhancing the efficiency of patient care services.
NPPs shall not perform any service for which a Physician is responsible pursuant to the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations or policies of the Medical Staff or for which, in whole or in part, any Physician receives payment (NPP policy).

A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a current California RN license are required, with a Master's Degree and 1-2 years of experience preferred. Candidates must hold BLS and ACLS certifications and be capable of meeting demanding physical requirements.
