The technician is responsible for the technical management and interrogation of implanted cardiac pacemakers and ICDs. They collaborate with physicians to implement treatment plans and provide clinical care and education to device patients.
A high school diploma or GED is required, while an associate's degree and cardiovascular experience are preferred. Candidates should have training in pacemaker and device technology to perform complex clinical assessments.

Maintains performance responsibility as an experienced/skilled practice technical clinician. Performs independently, with physician oversight, in the technical management of implanted cardiac pacemaker and Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) devices. Manages device patients and care implementing treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other device team members. Acts as a competent clinician who provides clinical care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision-making skills.
