Assist staff nurses in the treatment and care of patients within the medical/surgical unit and the emergency room. Perform general patient care duties including hygiene, vital signs recording, and assisting with admissions and discharges.
Must possess a valid CNA license and BLS certification. A minimum of one year of experience in a medical/surgical environment and basic computer skills for EMR charting are required.
Description Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital in North Florida providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory, and outpatient radiology (X-ray, ultrasound, and CT Scan) services to Union County and the surrounding counties. Certified Nursing Assistants perform various duties, such as assisting staff nurses in the treatment and care of patients in the medical/surgical unit and the ER in accordance with the established methods and procedures of the hospital.
Performs selected procedures and treatments according to hospital policy and procedures. Helps prepare unit, patient(s), and patient bed(s) for receiving patient admissions, returning surgical patients, transfers, or emergencies. Assists in and, as necessary, accompanies patient in the admission, transfer, and discharge procedures. Provides morning care (oral care, bed bath, if necessary, assists with shower, changing of bed linens, dressing patient) and evening care (freshening bed linen, undressing patient) and other general care as necessary throughout the day. Requirements: Education: CNA License
Minimum of 1 year medical/surgical experience.
BLS certification required prior to first date of employment. Basic computer skills required, with understanding of Electronic Medical Record charting (EMR).
