About the role

Collects patient samples using phlebotomy best practices and documents them in the Lab Information System. Serves in a float capacity across multiple entities to provide staffing coverage and perform Point of Care testing.

Job Description​ Collects patient samples using best practices for phlebotomy.

Documents receipt of patient samples in Lab Information System (LIS) and prepares them for analysis.

Tier 2 will work at up to four entities.

Serves in a float capacity across a variety of campuses to provide staffing coverage.

Work Schedule varies.

Must be available between the hours of 6a-5p Monday thru Friday.

No weekends or holidays Collects patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards.

Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR.

Performs and reports Point of Care laboratory testing as required.

Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection.

Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections.

Completion of a phlebotomy program, have completed sticks on a human, has knowledge of lab safety protocol is preferred 1-2 years of mobile, inpatient, and/or outpatient experience preferred
