Perform complete echocardiographic examinations including M-mode, 2D, and Doppler on clinical and research patients. Assist cardiologists with transesophageal and stress echocardiographic procedures while ensuring compliance with IAC standards.
Requires a high school diploma and completion of a CAAHEP-accredited echocardiography or cardiovascular technology program. BCLS certification is required, and registration with ARDMS or CCI must be completed within one year of hire.
Job Details The Echocardiography Diagnostic Technician performs complete echocardiographic examinations including M-mode, two-dimension and Doppler Echocardiography on clinical and/or research patients. Assists the Cardiologist, Fellows or other appropriate personnel in performing trans esophageal echocardiographic and stress echocardiographic examinations. He/she may also assist in coordinating efficient patient flow, staff assignments, educational support and highest quality procedures consistent with IAC standards for Echocardiography.
Education: High school diploma and completion of a two-year echocardiography training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or cardiovascular technology program accredited by the CAAHEP. AND Experience: 1+ year’s echocardiogram experience preferred. Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required. Within 1 year of hire employee must complete registration by a national certification organization such as American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required. Salary Range $36.96 to $52.67 Hourly The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
