Job Description: SUMMARY:

The Primary Care Physician provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to adult and/or family medicine patients in a collaborative care center setting. This role emphasizes preventive care, chronic condition management, and whole-person health—without productivity quotas tied to volume.

Job description

  • Key responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality primary care services, including preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with patients through longer appointment times
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team (nurses, care guides, behavioral health, pharmacists)
  • Utilize data and evidence-based guidelines to improve outcomes and patient experience
  • Participate in care coordination, population health initiatives, and quality improvement efforts
  • Document care accurately and efficiently using the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Support Spira Care’s mission, values, and patient-first culture

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Active or eligible for medical licensure in Missouri and/or Kansas
  • DEA license (or ability to obtain)
  • BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Maintain licensures and certifications throughout employment.
  • Passion for value-based care and team-based practice
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-centered mindset
  • Spira Care has specific vaccination requirements as a condition of employment. Compliance with this condition of employment, with or without reasonable accommodation based on a sincerely held religious belief or a disability is required
  • Meet all requirements to provide services under Spira Care’s provider agreement with Blue KC
