Facilitates safe and efficient surgical procedures by preparing the operating suite and assisting physicians with instruments. Responsible for patient positioning, draping, and the accurate accounting of all surgical supplies and specimens.
JOB SUMMARY Performs assigned scrub duties, assists with patient care and assures optimum quality patient care using a team approach. Performs services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of the Circulating RN. Reports to: Director of Surgical Services FLSA: Non-exempt JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education Graduate of a Program for Surgical Technology, Licensed Practical Nurse or candidate must have had 2 years experience as a Surgical Technologist is required Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days Minimum Work Experience A minimum of one-year hospital experience as an Operating Room Technician with a service orientation and the ability to understand and react effectively to the surgical needs for all patient populations.
