The technologist performs special radiology procedures while ensuring quality patient care and professional conduct. They are responsible for minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff while working independently in their modality.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Radiology school and hold a State of FL Certified Radiologic Technologist license, ARRT, and BLS. Cross-training in Special Procedures and English proficiency are required.
Under the direction of the Supervisor and in association with the radiologists, the Special Procedures Technologist conducts themselves in a professional manner, responding to patient needs and supporting their colleagues and associates in providing quality patient care. The technologist performs services in accordance to an accepted standard of practice and demonstrates expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, self and other members of the health care team. The technologist must be able to work independently in that modality.
