About the role

The Physical Therapist evaluates patients to develop and implement treatment programs aimed at improving physical dysfunction and independence in daily activities. They collaborate with a team of therapists and assistants to provide patient-focused care and education.

Responsibilities

Physical Therapist are movement experts who improve quality of life through hands-on care, patient education and prescribed movement. Our Physical therapist work as a team with physical therapy assistants to treat people of all ages and abilities.

In this position with Presbyterian’s Outpatient rehabilitation department gives clinicians the opportunity to treat a variety of patients and the ability to work with a group of therapist that have a range in specialties. The Outpatient rehabilitation team is collaborative and patient-focused. We place a strong emphasis on providing orientation and mentorship in order to ensure the well-being and success of our new team members. Additional Job Duties

  • Evaluates patients, develops plans and goals, and implements treatment programs for improvement of physical or developmental dysfunction and independence in activities of daily living.
  • Continuously reassesses treatment plans and goals.
  • Educates and instructs regarding home programs and preventive measures as appropriate to patient, family, and others.
  • Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with patient, family, physician, and other healthcare providers regarding patient care.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Participates in educational programs and inservices and other meetings as required. Participates on special project teams and other related duties as assigned and requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy Preferred.
  • NM License of Physical Therapy required.
  • BLS required at time of hire.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree and a New Mexico License of Physical Therapy are required, along with BLS certification at the time of hire. A Doctor of Physical Therapy is preferred, and new graduates are encouraged to apply.
