- Summary: Acquires echocardiographic data using transthoracic transducer acquisition with the patient at rest under the supervision and/or direction of a physician Work includes morphologic imaging, assessment of myocardial function, recording of hemodynamic parameters, visualization of blood flow. Independently performs stress echocardiographic testing. May perform and administer contrast imaging under the direction of a cardiologist. Engages in teaching others echocardiographic skills. .

- Reviews Echocardiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate and cost-effective imaging.
- Applies broad range of skills to ensure exam is completed timely and meets quality and compliance standards.
- Performs echocardiography for patients with congenital heart problems standards.
- Demonstrates skill in acquiring clear images on clinically complex patients.
- May be designated as an interim shift lead in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.
