About the Role

• The Ortho Tech Assistant plays a vital role in supporting orthopedic healthcare providers by assisting with patient care and the preparation of orthopedic devices.
• This position ensures that patients receive timely and effective treatment by managing the setup and maintenance of orthopedic equipment and assisting with basic clinical procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a certified orthopedic technician training program or relevant clinical experience.
• Basic knowledge of orthopedic terminology and procedures.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Current certification in CPR and First Aid.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in a health-related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in an orthopedic or clinical setting.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthopedic staff with the preparation and application of orthopedic devices such as splints, casts, and braces.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are sterilized and readily available for patient care.
• Support patient positioning and comfort during examinations and procedures, providing clear communication and reassurance.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
