JOB SUMMARY—Primary Care APP at Behavioral Health Hospital The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides general and specialty medical and/or surgical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. The APP will have an opportunity to practice autonomously and collaboratively within their established scope. All TGH team members are responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values in accordance with Tampa General Hospital. RESPONSIBILITIES—Primary Care · Daily primary care assessments and associated documentation following evidence-based practice · Primary care consultation and evaluation · Communicate with other primary and behavioral health care team members to collaborate on the management of complex patients with psychiatric illness · Request, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic and laboratory tests and take appropriate actions as medically indicated in accordance with departmental protocols; identify and report signs, symptoms, problems, or potential problems requiring further assessment, communication, and/or intervention to promote positive outcomes · Work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES · Demonstrates current knowledge and level of expertise utilizing evidence- and theory-based practice, infection control standards, and clinical evaluations in providing care to clients in clinic or hospital-based settings, as evidenced by following established protocols · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic · Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment · Strong written and oral communication skills · Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution abilities
· Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida · Family Nurse Practitioner Certification or Physician Assistant Certification · Experience in primary care/family medicine preferred
