The Triage Nurse provides high-quality nursing care by triaging patients, performing clinical assessments, and managing medical documentation. They support providers with in-room needs and ensure efficient clinic flow and patient communication.
Candidates must hold and maintain an active Medical Assistant (MA) certification. A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
Description The Triage Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care under the direction of a supervising provider or clinical team, ensuring that patient and family needs are effectively met. This role involves collecting and analyzing data to support patient assessment and care planning, including triaging patients, managing telephone communications, and reviewing medical documentation such as clinical and hospital records. The Triage Nurse prioritizes tasks efficiently, processes medication refill requests, and ensures that care delivery aligns with established care plans and office policies.
Provides nursing care to patients as delegated by assigned supervisor and/or provider to meet the needs of the patient/family Collects data and information to assist the clinical team and/or the provider in patient assessment and care planning in accordance with current MIPS guidelines which includes but is not limited to: Triaging patients Performing real-time clinical assessments and EMR Documentation during visits Communicating internally & externally through telephone encounters & actions Supporting providers with in-room needs Vitals, ECGs, patient positioning, and assisting with procedures Escorts patients to and from rooms and assist with mobility as needed Preparing and stocking exam rooms before and during clinic as needed Participates in teamwork Effectively and respectfully communicates with other departments of the office Demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written) as well as computer/electronic medical record systems skills Assisting with emergency responses (e.g. calling 911, using AED) Monitoring clinic pace and communicate delays or issues to the care team/ nurses station Other duties as assigned
