Thomas More Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, is the cornerstone of health care services for Fremont County and surrounding southern Colorado communities.
St.
Thomas More offers 24 hour emergency and trauma services; inpatient acute care; intensive care; labor, delivery, and nursery care; multi-modal diagnostic imaging; inpatient and outpatient surgical services; rehabilitation services; cardiopulmonary rehab and diagnostics; sleep studies; an infusion center; wound care; and a community blood bank.
We are on a mission to provide high quality care with zero harm to patients and employees.
Our board-certified physicians specialize in emergency medicine, internal medicine, urology, bariatric services, obstetrics/gynecology services, general surgery, orthopedic surgery and osteopathic treatment.

Emergency Department:The Emergency Department at St.
Thomas More consists of 13 ED beds, three behavioral Health rooms and four fast tracks.
The Emergency Department handles acute and subacute issues.
We are a Level IV trauma center staffed with TNCC certified nurses.
We’re located in a tourist area with many outdoor activities, so trauma is a big part of our care and we have a broad case mix.
We see everything from major traumas (approximately 300 per year) to STEMIs, and strokes.
We also have a certified Forensic Nurse Examinationprogram.
We are proficient in EMTALA laws with our stabilization and transfer experience of acutely emergent patients, supported through our affiliation and partnership with Flight for Life and other EMS Services.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for: Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.

Job Requirements In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following: Education Requirements Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs Experience Requirements One year experience preferred Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty Licenses/Certification Requirements RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact Physical Requirements Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly) Schedule: Part time (variable)
