Perform and support routine laboratory procedures, including the operation, calibration, and maintenance of lab instruments. Responsible for sample preparation, waste disposal, and assisting with the orientation and management of unit personnel.
The Medical Lab Technician uses the laboratory process to safely perform laboratory procedures.
Working assignments are determined by the workload of laboratory test to be done.

The technician will be assigned up to 40 hours a week and will rotate between day and night shifts according to the needs of the unit and staff.

The technician will be required to collect and prepare samples, solutions and specimen and ensure safe disposal of waste.
Must have a good attitude and function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization.
Must be able to address problems with instruments and not depend on someone else to resolve the problem.
Will be responsible to assist with orientation, preceptorship, and management of personnel assigned to unit.
Must be able to work and relate in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
Attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements is non-negotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to arrange and attend sessions.
Must be willing to perform any duty within scope of medical technologist as requested by laboratory manager or director.
Must hold a required laboratory certification and be able to work rotating day and night shifts. Candidates must be capable of independently resolving instrument issues and adhering to mandatory yearly education requirements.
