Perform direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process for assessment, planning, and intervention. Supervise support staff and maintain accurate computerized documentation for admissions, discharges, and medication administration.
Requires a graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing and a current Minnesota RN license. Candidates must have at least one year of Emergency Department experience and hold BLS and ACLS certifications.
Summary Under the direction of, and in collaboration with unit management, performs responsibilities exercising initiative, judgment and independent decision-making within the scope of the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policy and other governing organizations. Utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation) in a systematic approach to the direct and indirect care of patients and their families.

Required Education and Experience Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota At least 1 year of experience working in an Emergency Department is required. Successful completion of a criminal background check as required by the State of Minnesota Certifications Required at Hire: Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required Within 6 Months of Hire: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required Within 1 year of Hire: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Additional Training All newly hired RNs will receive in‑house trauma training within the first year of employment. This training meets the educational objectives of the Minnesota State Trauma System, unless the RN has previously completed one of the following: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) Certified Acute Trauma Nurse (CATN) Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Work hours will vary based on operational needs and employee availability. Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as scheduled.
