About the Role
We are actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Peer support specialist to join our team full-time. This role is essential to our mission, providing therapy, crisis support, and service coordination for mental health clients in a variety of settings. As a Peer support specialist with Carolina Outreach, you will provide structured and scheduled activities for adults age 18 and older with MH/SA disability. Assist program participants in the development of skills, confidence, and relationships as they resume independent living. Assisting consumers in articulating personal goals for recovery. Provide direct peer counseling based on your own lived experiences. Help participants understand and employ recovery strategies. Assisting consumers in determining the objectives the consumers’ needs to take in order to reach their recovery goals. Assisting with setting up self-help groups. - $16.89 - $21.69 Placement within the range is based on licensure level, education, and experience. What You Can Expect Provide one-on-one peer support and guidance using your lived experience to help clients navigate recovery. Assist individuals in setting personal goals and building skills for independent living. Offer crisis support and help clients apply practical recovery strategies in daily life. Facilitate group activities and self-help sessions to encourage connection and community support. Responsibilities Provide direct peer counseling and emotional support based on lived experience. Help clients identify recovery goals and create actionable steps to achieve them. Support skill-building for independent living, including confidence and relationship development. Assist in crisis situations and connect clients with appropriate services and resources.
