The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for operating mechanical ventilators and administering medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients. They must monitor physiological responses and maintain accurate patient therapy charts.
Candidates must be able to perform essential respiratory care duties and operate specialized medical equipment. The role requires adherence to physician orders and the ability to train other healthcare personnel.
Respiratory and Nursing Center of Dayton located in Moraine, OH is seeking FT Respiratory Therapist to join our team.
We are also looking for part time and prn staff as well.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.
· Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
· Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature, and to administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under orders of Physicians.
· Monitors patient’s physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs.
· Assists patients in performing breathing exercises.
· Maintains patient’s chart that contain pertinent identification and therapy information.
· Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
· Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.
