Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. + on-call with weekend availability and rotating holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in a variety of healthcare settings.
Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
Perform telephone triage and call rotations.

Perform nursing procedures or LIP in the treatment and management of patient care and administer treatments and medications.
Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.

Serve as charge nurse when assigned to ensure efficient operations and continuity of care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire One year of recent experience as an RN OR Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedure Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Two years of recent experience as an RN One year of critical care experience in a hospital setting Cardiac care experience Physical Requirements: Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
