The pharmacist provides clinical cardiology services, including assessing patient needs and implementing drug therapy adjustments in a collaborative academic hospital environment. Responsibilities also include managing distributive tasks and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols.
Requires a Bachelor of Pharmacy and completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 residency, with a PharmD and PGY-2 preferred. Candidates must hold or be eligible for an Iowa Pharmacist license and possess proficiency in electronic medical records.

Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy with equivalent clinical hospital experience required Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency residency or equivalent experience required PGY-2 or equivalent experience preferred for specialty area Experience: Proficiency in navigating the electronic medical record One or more years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred License(s)/Certification(s): Iowa Pharmacist license in good standing or eligible for licensure Must attain a license to practice Pharmacy in Iowa within six months of employment Must be directly supervised by a licensed pharmacist until Iowa Pharmacist license is obtained Must maintain current license to practice pharmacy in Iowa and be in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
