The Clinic Nurse II provides comprehensive primary care support, including administering medications, conducting triage, and performing nurse-led visits. They are also responsible for quality improvement activities, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating patient care across various health disciplines.
Candidates must have a successful completion of an accredited nursing program and an active, unrestricted registered nurse license in Massachusetts. A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required, with primary care or community health experience preferred.
As a member of the primary care team in the nursing department, the Clinic Nurse II provides support for patients, medical providers, and other nurses. The desired candidate has a pleasant and welcoming personality, is a licensed nurse with >2 years of experience as a nurse and willing to learn new skills. The Clinic Nurse II may also specialize within the primary care clinic (e.g. pediatrics, Diabetes Education, Farmworker Program, contraceptive care/SRH program, Quality or ordering and inventory of medical supplies/vaccine supply). The person will support CHCFC’s mission, vision, and values and contributes to a work environment that is caring, collaborative, and innovative.
1. Attends and actively participates in health center medical team meetings and other staff meetings as required.
1. Effectively communicates with patients and staff across departments.
Provides cross-coverage during nursing colleagues’ time away from the office (including paid time off, scheduled, and unscheduled days off). In-person attendance including reassignment to other satellite sites as needed to maintain appropriate staffing.
Successful completion of an accredited nursing program and active and unrestricted registered nurse license in Massachusetts. Proficiency in written and spoken English. Bi-lingual English/Spanish, English/Moldovan, or English/Russian a plus.
2 or more years of experience as a nurse, or 1 year of experience as a Clinic Nurse I at CHCFC. Primary care office-based experience or community health experience preferred.
While performing the required duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent when traveling between Health Center locations where medical care is provided. This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
