Assess, plan, and evaluate nursing activities to provide high-quality care for patients in a high-acuity Emergency Department. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient care, education, and discharge planning.
Must be a graduate of a nursing specialty training program and hold a valid Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Schedule Details: 1.0 FTE, night shift. Orient on 1.0 (40 hours per week) and can transition to (3)12s once off orientation. Every other weekend and every other holiday. Offer self-scheduling to allow for flexible schedule. Unit Description: Join our amazing Emergency Department at Geisinger Medical Center! This hospital is a level 1 Adult Trauma Center, Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and first comprehensive heart attack center in the nation. The care of many of our patients starts in our Emergency Department- 44 bed total: 3 Trauma Bays, 9 in a Pediatric zone just outside the ED proper, and 2 Rapid Evaluation Rooms; 42 of the 44 beds have monitors. The Emergency Department has a team nursing concept and works with many different service lines in the health care system.
