The Audiologist is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and remedial treatment of patients with hearing impairments. This includes performing amplification evaluations and maintaining supportive communication with patients and their care teams.
Candidates must adhere to New York State Professional Licensing Standards and ASHA practice guidelines. The role requires the ability to exercise professional judgment, organize resources effectively, and handle high-pressure situations with compassion.
$77,075.00 - $119,466.00 The Audiologist provides services and support for individuals with hearing impairments, aimed at the amelioration of difficulties stemming from such problems. New York State Professional Licensing Standards and Practice Guidelines of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association guide the practice of the Audiologist. The primary responsibilities of the Audiologist are evaluation and treatment of hearing impairments. Examines, tests, diagnoses, and administers remedial treatment for patients with hearing impairment. Provides appropriate evaluation and counseling to all patients. Performs amplification evaluations with special attention to the total hearing health and communication needs ofthe patient Maintains active and supportive communication with the patient and others concerned in their care regarding progress, problems, home programs, and other issues related to the therapeutic process. Demonstrates initiative, collaboration and strong teamwork skills in delivering patient care. Insures all documentation is timely, present and complete, consistent with departmental, institutional and third party/regulatory requirements. Performs internal and external public education functions. Ability to organize resources for effective utilization. Able to prioritize tasks and perform work effectively with frequent interruptions. Demonstrates ability to show compassion and courtesy with coworkers, patients, families, and the public when dealing with difficult or high pressure situations. Participates in other departmental and institutional activities as assigned.
