Salary
$35 - $38 / HOUR
Provide comprehensive care to patients recovering from anesthesia, including monitoring vital signs and administering prescribed medications. Collaborate with the medical team to implement individualized care plans and educate patients and families on post-operative recovery.
Must hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas and have at least one year of nursing experience, preferably in a PACU setting. BLS and ACLS certifications are required, with PALS being a plus.
Patient Monitoring: Assess and monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition upon arrival in the PACU, identifying any complications or abnormalities. Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed, including analgesics and antiemetics, while ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols. Care Coordination: Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans while providing timely updates to family members. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and signs of potential complications to promote a smooth recovery process.
Accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas. Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with a preference for experience in PACU BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS is a plus). Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the medical team.
