Join us in making a meaningful impact on patients’ lives after their surgical procedures as a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PACU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic nursing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort during the critical post-operative phase. Your expertise will help guide patients on their journey to recovery, making a significant difference in their overall experience.

Responsibilities

Patient Monitoring: Assess and monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition upon arrival in the PACU, identifying any complications or abnormalities. Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed, including analgesics and antiemetics, while ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols. Care Coordination: Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans while providing timely updates to family members. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and signs of potential complications to promote a smooth recovery process.

Documentation

Accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas. Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with a preference for experience in PACU BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS is a plus). Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the medical team.
