About the role

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for accurately administering therapeutic doses of ionizing radiation according to oncologist prescriptions. They also maintain patient treatment parameters in electronic records and assist in clinical instruction for new staff and students.

Overview

Radiation Therapist The Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is looking for a Radiation Therapist to join our team in Eugene, Oregon.

We offer cutting edge treatments and services to each patient.

Our multidisciplinary Radiation Oncology team puts each patient at the forefront of our care, with safety as our top priority.

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for accurately administering therapeutic doses of ionizing radiation according to the approved prescription of the Radiation Oncologist.

The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $50.00-$81.00 The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, internal equity, etc. $2,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days $2,500 bonus after 12 months $5,000 bonus after 18 months Relocation assistance is available for candidates relocating to the area; details will be discussed during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist.
  • Accurately enters and maintains patient treatment parameters into electronic medical record.
  • Participates in clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students.
  • Assists in maintaining patient appointment schedule and submitting correct billing information.
  • Accurately interprets a computerized treatment plan.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Current Equipment: Three Varian linear accelerators: Halcyon, Trilogy and TrueBeam GE 580 Optima CT Simulator Nucletron microSelection HDR unit ARIA record and verify system AlignRT Procedures include but are not limited to: 3D-conformal therapy IMRT FSRT SBRT DIBH SRS

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
  • Bachelor Degree preferred OBMI License at time of Start Date – ARRT license Required BLS Certification PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited radiation therapy technology program with an ARRT license and BLS certification. A bachelor's degree and an OBMI license at the time of start date are preferred.
