The RN Block Nurse is responsible for providing pre and post-operative education and assisting with the placement of nerve blocks and catheters. They also monitor patient comfort, coordinate medication changes with anesthesiologists, and manage EMR data transfers.
Candidates must hold a valid Texas RN license and an active BLS certification. Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and comfort working with all age groups are required.
Overview US Anesthesia Partners - Central Texas is seeking an RN Block Nurse to join our team! Job Highlights The ideal candidate for this position will be compassionate, caring and experienced in developing/implementing the plan of care for each patient, making recommendations for patient interventions, and collaborating with other healthcare providers to deliver care and document outcomes.
Patient Education: Pre and post-op education for patient and family regarding the peripheral nerve block. Nerve block assistance: Under direct supervision, administer sedation if needed and assist with placement of nerve block/catheter by pushing local anesthetic and holding ultrasound probe in place. Pain Management: Via patient rounds and/or follow-up calls, assess effectiveness of nerve block to determine patient's comfort and coordinate with an anesthesiologist any changes to medication regimen/catheter settings that may be needed. Chart Reviews: Transfer patient information from hospital EMR records to USAP EMR.
