Assist pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of compounded sterile and non-sterile drug products. Maintain accurate records and follow SOPs and USP guidelines to ensure medication availability for patients.
Requires a high school diploma, a Connecticut Pharmacy Technician license, and at least one year of pharmacy technician experience including sterile and non-sterile compounding. PTCB certification is required within six months of hire.
The Pharmacy Technician Sterile Compounding is responsible for assisting Pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) and non-sterile drug products.
Under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist and following established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and USP guidelines, prepares sterile preparations (CSPs) and non-sterile drug products in order to ensure medications are ready and available for administration to the patient.
Maintains accurate records utilizing established policies and procedures.
