The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing and interpreting various clinical laboratory tests while maintaining quality control and assurance programs. They are also tasked with troubleshooting laboratory equipment, managing supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety and federal regulations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and either a bachelor's or master's degree in medical technology or related sciences with three years of experience, or a state-recognized Medical Technologist certification. Current certification from ASCP, AAB, or AMT is required, along with the ability to pass a color blindness test.
