The Wound/Ostomy Nurse evaluates and provides quality care to patients across all age groups referred by physicians. Responsibilities include adhering to the Alabama Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act and Standards of Nursing Practice.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current RN license in the state. One year of experience in acute or wound care is preferred.

Summary The Wound/Ostomy Nurse will evaluate and provide quality Wound & Ostomy Care to patients referred by a physician in keeping with the Alabama Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act and following Standards of Nursing Practice. The Wound/Ostomy Nurse provides services for infants, pediatrics, adolescent, young adults, older adults, and geriatric population as related to Wound and Ostomy Care.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Required; Current RN license in the state Required; One (1) year or experience in an acute care or wound care setting Preferred LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency situation. SKILLS: Entry level knowledge of Wound and Ostomy Care; Basic computer skills. Skills proficiency knowledge.
