The Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) [https://www.boston.gov/government/cabinets/boston-public-health-commission/about-health-commission] mission is to work in partnership with communities to protect, preserve, and promote the health and well-being of all Boston residents, particularly those who are most vulnerable and impacted by racism and systemic inequities.
The Joseph Nee Collaborative Center is a community based DPH-licensed outpatient behavioral health clinic. Our mission is to provide high quality substance use and mental health treatment services to residents of Greater Boston, regardless of status or ability to pay.
Our team of Clinicians, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LADCs), Nurse Practitioner, and Medical Director provide telehealth services, onsite individual counseling, group therapy, medication assisted treatment (MAT), psychoeducation, and case management services to more than 400 clients each year.
As part of the Boston Public Health Commission's continuum of care, the Collaborative assists adults and adolescents in a safe, confidential environment who are struggling with a variety of mental health issues.
The Joseph Nee Collaborative Center’s Clinical Internship offers graduate students comprehensive, hands-on training experience in community behavioral health. Interns will work directly with clients experiencing substance use disorders and mental health needs, providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions in both individual and group settings. This placement emphasizes the development of core clinical competencies within a supportive and supervised environment, preparing interns for professional licensure and future clinical practice.
