Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will work in collaboration with the RN, ARNP, Director of Nursing, and Medical Director to ensure the safest and most comfortable experience for all clients of Riverside Recovery of Tampa. The LPN will also work closely with the Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) and assist in behavioral management as needed. Essential
Duties and Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction
Must have essential skills such as communication and critical thinking
Able to obtain medical history for admission process
Comfortable communicating with Physicians, PA-C, ARNP, RNs, and Pharmacists
Assist physicians in developing treatment plans
Ability to place PPD and obtain blood work
Obtain vital signs and Complete detox assessments (CIWA, CIWA-B, COWS) every 4 hours to monitor patient for s/s of withdrawal
Document full assessment (completed on each shift or every 12 hours) with a nursing note attached
Administer scheduled and PRN medications
Accurately complete a narcotic medication count
Educate patients on medication protocols
Ability to multi-task and delegate
Knowledgeable and efficient with using EMR
Implementing verbal physician orders and authenticating in writing, within a reasonable time, and include in the patient record
Accurately reporting pertinent information during shift report
Maintains a safe and sanitary environment.
Apply infection control techniques and universal precautions.
