Hours: 7pm - 7am Every 3rd Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required Sign-On Bonus Eligible Shift and Weekend Differential Pay Eligible Department Summary Open Heart ICU (OHICU) is a 10-bed unit which provides care to critically ill/postoperative cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, and general surgery patients. The unit also serves trauma ICU overflow patients and cardiac medical/surgical patients.
Procedures and care provided include, but are not limited to: invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, open heart surgery recovery, arrythmia monitoring and intervention, all components of advanced cardiac life support, EEG monitoring, pacemaker/ICD management, IABP management, CRRT utilization, ventricular assist device management, and ECMO. General Summary Provides professional nursing care in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital. Acts as a primary nurse for patients on the unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.
Requires a nursing diploma or associate degree, with a BSN preferred, and at least one year of RN experience. Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support certification.
