Duties: and Responsibilities:
. 1. Obtains relevant patient medical history summaries 2. Takes patient vital signs (weight, blood pressure, etc.) 3. Documents medical history summaries and vital signs in the electronic medical record 2. Prepares patients for examination and explains treatment procedures to patients as needed. 3. Collects and prepares laboratory specimens, and may perform basic laboratory tests on the premises. 4. Disposes contaminated supplies. 5. Schedules and administers medication injections, as ordered by medical staff, in accordance with rules and regulations (e.g., right patient, right medication, right dose, right route; physician must be on-site; proper billing, etc.). 6. Instructs patients about medication and special diets, and orders/obtains injectable medications from the onsite/offsite pharmacy as directed by a medical staff member. 7. May authorize drug refills as directed by medical staff and telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy. 8. Maintain and provide medication samples to patients as directed by medical staff. 9. Inputs lab information (e.g., clozapine REMS). 10. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of trauma informed care, and willingness to support and assist consumers with trauma related issues.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and be a Certified Medical Assistant. Proficiency in Spanish is considered a plus.
