Provide direct mental health and chemical dependency services, including intakes, assessments, and individual or group therapy, to Native Americans and their families. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary medical team to deliver integrative care and crisis intervention services.
Requires a Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field and a valid independent license (LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW) from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Candidates must pass a background check, drug screening, and possess a valid California Driver's license.

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Licensed Therapist. The preferred schedule for this position is Wednesday - Friday 25 hours a week.
The listed wage reflects the entry-level rate for this position. Compensation may be adjusted based on experience, education, and qualifications.
1. Provide mental health and substance abuse assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, psychotherapy, case management, referral and coordination with other allied professionals and treatment providers, including medical providers, psychiatrists, Tribal Child and Family Services, school IEP coordinators, courts, and other community based agencies.
2. Caseloads may include treatment of children, adolescents, adults, couples, or families living with mild-moderate mental health or substance use disorders.
3. Have a functional understanding of DSM-5 psychiatric disorders, psychoactive medications, brain physiology and demonstrate a working knowledge of various theoretical models of psychotherapy, including brief therapy, behavioral counseling, substance abuse recovery and other culturally relevant forms of treatment.
4. Demonstrate knowledge of trauma-informed treatment practices and/or a willingness to obtain training in trauma-informed evidence-based clinic interventions.
5. Provide case management in the form of interpersonal support and problem solving assistance to individuals and families in need of services. Provide crisis prevention, relapse prevention, education and follow-up information on mental health and substance abuse treatment and recovery to individuals and families in our service area.
7. Update individualized treatment plans according to ethical standards of practice including goal, objective interventions, duration and frequency.
8. Facilitate and co-facilitate group therapy sessions as needed for targeted client groups, such as adolescents, elders, trauma or abuse survivors, substance abuse treatment and recovery, anger management, grief support and/or other support groups. Work with the community to effectively advertise and recruit for group services.
9. Maintain confidential electronic health records and other records in accordance with requirements of state, tribal, federal laws and clinic policy. Accurately complete all assessments, daily behavioral health progress notes and client file documents within the required timeframe and provide them to the clinic, courts, probation and referral sources as appropriate, as required by insurance and within HIPAA regulations.
10. Provide consultation, training and technical assistance as requested to other departments and tribal entities. Assist with organizing staff and community activities that help the tribe respond to local human service and behavioral health needs in the interest of efficiency and responsiveness of services
11. Maintain a clinical license in good standing and comply with continuing education requirements per applicable through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Respond promptly to requests from the credentialing team to provide up-to-date documentation necessary for Insurance requirements.
12. Participate in clinical supervision with the Behavioral Health Director or behavioral health supervisor to maintain quality patient care and services, as needed. Participate in regular Behavioral Health Department staff meetings, safety training, group consultation and supervision. Evaluate clinical progress in an ongoing manner to include evaluation of employee’s own issues, such as counter-transference.
15. Possess and seek an ongoing fundamental understanding of Native American culture and local Native American communities. Maintain high quality work, patient care and provision of all services in a culturally competent and sensitive manner.
16. Perform other duties and assignments as requested by the Behavioral Health Director.
