The Registered Nurse provides holistic care for residents with forensic and mental health histories, including medication management and daily mental status exams. They are responsible for documenting progress in EMR systems and coordinating healthcare with primary physicians and psychiatrists.
Candidates must hold a current PA RN/LPN license and CPR/First Aid certification. Required clearances include Act 33/34 and FBI, along with a valid driver's license and specific health screenings.
Registered nurse (Prn)
Collaborate on Personal Recovery Plans which emphasize residents’ strengths and needs.
Engage with residents regularly to note changes that may impact the recovery plan.
Participate in program milieu.
Attend and/or facilitate educational groups and meetings.
Provide education to support residents in understanding medication management.
Provide education to support residents in understanding daily health and wellness needs.
Medication and Health Management
Complete assessments/physicals within regulatory time frames.
Ensure residents’ prescriptions are current and collaborate with MD as needed.
Coordinate medications and health needs with the program Psychiatrist.
Maintain electronic medication administration record (eMAR).
Monitor the administration of all medications.
Assist residents with scheduling medical appointments and follow up on recommendations.
Coordinate physical healthcare with Primary Care Physicians and specialists.
Document educational groups and other resident contact.
Participate in case consultations, staff meetings, and supervision as assigned.
Attend training as required by RHD and licensing bodies.
Perform duties as assigned by director to ensure continuity of care.
