Job Description: Registered Nurse – Pathways
Pathways is our 16-bed adult inpatient behavioral health unit. Elliot Behavioral Health Services is staffed by a team of mental health professionals who tailor both evaluation and treatment services to each individual patient. These patients with persistent mental health illnesses are admitted voluntarily or involuntarily for 5-14 days. Our state-of-the-art units provide a wide array of equipment and patient acuity depending on a nurse’s professional interests, certifications, and experience level.
The Registered Nurse on Pathways delivers care for patients with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders. This includes de-escalation and crisis management under the supervision of providers. Also, creates a therapeutic and caring environment for patient and families. Has the option to cross train on PEP.
Embraces and promotes change to support optimal patient outcomes and an effective professional practice environment.
Involves patient/family in goal setting and planning, and communicates that plan of care to patient and family for input; and to colleagues to ensure seamless care across shifts and settings.
Utilizes current evidence and relevant national/specialty standards to guide practice and/or performance and identifies areas for improvement.
Demonstrates competent clinical practice utilizing clinical decision making and critical thinking skills.
