The Dental Assistant is responsible for preparing surgical areas, taking x-rays, and assisting the dentist during examinations and oral surgery procedures. Additionally, they educate patients on post-operative care and maintain strict sterilization and inventory standards.
Candidates must hold a dental assistant certificate from an accredited school and have at least one year of experience, preferably in oral surgery. State of Michigan X-ray certification is required, while BLS and CPR certifications are preferred.

Dental assistant certificate from an accredited vocational school 1+ years of dental assisting experience Oral Surgery Assisting (preferred) X-ray certification for the State of Michigan Current BLS and CPR certification (preferred, but not required) Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques Excellent written and verbal communication skills As a Dental Assistant you will: Gather patient information and health background Prepare the work area for procedures Take x-rays of patients’ teeth when necessary and display results for the dentist Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures Prepare materials for surgical procedures Educate patients on post-operative instructions Restock treatment areas and monitor inventory Sterilization, adhere to offices standards and universal precautions Why Choose Michigan Maxillofacial Surgery and Implant Center?
