Why Skilled Nursing? Why Now?
Many psychologists never imagine themselves working in skilled nursing facilities. Not because they wouldn’t be good at it, but because no one ever explained what it actually looks like. And yet, the signs are clear it’s a setting where they are much needed:
With adults 65+ projected to reach 20% of the U.S. population by 2030, demand for psychologists in skilled nursing is growing. Older nursing home residents have high rates of mental health and cognitive needs, creating a critical need for specialized psychological care in the setting.
The Role: Psychology Where It Counts
As a Clinical Psychologist at EMH, you will not be isolated in an office all day. You become part of a milieu within the skilled nursing facilities in which you would work.
It’s clinical practice without worrying about fee splitting, overhead costs, or stressing about billing and dealing with insurance companies.
EMH has built systems around our clinicians so you can focus on care.
Requirements: Who This Role Is For
You don’t need prior SNF or geriatric experience. What you need is curiosity, compassion, and the ability to see the person behind the chart.
