Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Medical ICU/MICU (Per Diem)

• Medical Intensive Care (MICU) is an 8-bed unit specializing in the care of medical intensive care patients.
• Care is provided for patients with infectious diseases, gastrointestinal problems, and cardiac and respiratory conditions that require ventilator support and invasive pressure monitoring and support.
• This position is per diem, with a minimum commitment of 24 hours per month, with the option to pick up additional hours is desired.
• Candidates must be available to work year round; this is not a seasonal position.
• Job Summary: Collaborates with a nursing team to provide quality patient care.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities: 1. Collaborates with a registered nurse on developing a patient's care plan. 2. Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse. 3. Maintains the safety of patients who have been identified at risk for preventable injury by the implementation of nursing safety interventions or the use of protective devices/equipment under the supervision of the registered nurse. 4. Reports all patient activity to the registered nurse in a timely manner. Required Qualifications: 1. High School diploma or GED required. 2. 0-1 years related work experience required. 3. Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

• Range: $20.50 - $27.59 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
