Performs all duties of a Lab Assistant, including procuring patient specimens and maintaining phlebotomy supplies. Additionally, instructs trainees and manages computer functions and downtime procedures.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and a professional certification from ASCPT, NCAP, or a Hospital School of Phlebotomy. Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to perform laboratory assistant duties efficiently.
Performs all duties of a Lab Assistant. In addition, procures an above average number of patient specimens, instructs phlebotomy/office trainees, inventories and maintains, phlebotomy and office supplies, and exhibits above average initiative and cooperation. Efficiently performs computer functions assigned to a Lab Assistant security level; competently performs downtime procedures. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
