Unit Clerk - 6 West - Per Diem, 8 hours - Evenings Variable

Salary Range

$38.22 - 43.92 + applicable differentials

Job Summary The Unit Clerk is responsible for performing visitor and nursing support duties and maintaining a clean and organized work area, including some clerical duties.

In addition to performing the essential functions listed below, the Unit Clerk may also be assigned other duties as required.

• Educational Requirement High school graduate or equivalent.
• Work Experience One (1) year previous unit clerk experience in acute care hospital, preferred.
• Previous clerical, receptionist, physician's office experience or appropriate medical training preferred.
• Licensure Requirements BLS certification, required.
• Skills & Abilities Requirements Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology, required.
• Verbal communication skills.
• Emotional stamina to work in stressful environments.
• Computer skills sufficient to use computer system with accuracy for admitting, discharging, ordering, charging, and patient scheduling.
